27.10.09; European Community system to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. From 1 January 2010 Council Regulation (EC) No 1005/2008 applies. This Regulation establishes a EU system to prevent, deter and eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Under the Regulation fishery products shall only be imported into the European Community when accompanied by a catch certificate in conformity with this Regulation.
That certificate should contain information demonstrating the legality of the products concerned.
The list in Annex I of the Regulation contains products which at this moment are excluded from the scope of implementation of the catch certificate. With a special Commission Regulation this Annex has been amended.
Vetimpleg now contains the amended list and explains the consequences.
