18.07.08; Veterinary certification conditions for imports of meat preparations into the EU from third countries Commission Decision 2000/572/EC lays down the animal and public health and veterinary certification conditions for imports and transit of meat preparations into the European Community from third countries. It is necessary to amend and update EU health conditions and certification requirements for the imports into the European Community of meat preparations in order to introduce the correct references to new legislation.
Furthermore standardisation of health certificates is essential for the effective computer processing of the certificates in the Trade Control and Expert System (Traces) system.
Accordingly, from 1 July 2008 the model certificates set out in Annexes II and III to Decision 2000/572/EC are replaced by new models in order to ensure compatibility with Traces and to introduce the correct references to new legislation.
To avoid any disruption of trade some transitional measures are in force for a limited period.
Vetimpleg contains the new certificates and explains all consequences.
